Points are given each week for all events.
The point scoring system for all events is as the follows:
First Place
7 Points
Second Place
5 Points
Third Place 4 Points
Fourth Place
3 Points
Fifth Place
2 Points
All other competitors will receive one point on completing an event.
The point score for all events is the overall result of each event e.g. if a
child that places third in heat 1 has a faster time than a child who wins
heat 2, the child in heat 1 will be placed overall higher than the winner
of heat 2.
The athlete's best three results for the season will be totalled in each
event to determine event awards.
Awards for the first, second and third
places will be recognised for both boys and girls for all age groups
(excluding Tots).
In the event of a tie for an event placing the athletes will share the award
e.g. two athletes who have the exact the same points and are tied for
first place in the long jump, will be equal at the end of the season and the
next award will be for third place.
Season Awards
At the end of season Presentation Day the following awards will be made:
Age Champion Award
(1) -
first, second and third highest point earning
girls and boys in each age group
Event Champion Award -
in the event that a girl or boy in any age group
achieves their age groups best track or field event performance in the
season
and they are not the recipient of an Age Champion award
Participation Award
- athletes who have met the 75% attendance
requirement
and who have not received an Age or Event Champion Award
Record Award
- athletes who equal and/or better the Centre's track and
field records
State Award
- athletes who represent the Centre at the Little Athletics
New South
Wales State Finals
Five Year Award
- for those athletes who have been members of the
Centre
for 5
years i.e. this award will be presented on the completion
of 5 years of membership
Ten Year Award
- for those athletes who have been members of the
Centre for 10
years i.e. this award will be presented on the completion
of 10 years membership

Age champions are determined by totalling attendance and events
championship points.
Championship points will be awarded for each
event each Saturday with the exception of those weeks, which are
stated
as non-championship weeks.
The boy and girl with the highest total points over the whole season
shall be
awarded the age championship for their age group. Second
and third place awards
will also be made.
In the event of a tie, two awards will be made for that placing. However,
depending
upon the placing in question, this may result in certain
awards not being made
e.g. if two children tie for first place, two first
place awards will be made, no second
place award will be made and
the next place getter will receive a third place.
